A Billion Reasons to Find a Solution

scientistTo inventors, creators, researchers, thinkers, tinkerers and people around the world, we have one message:
We believe that, given sufficient motivation and clearly defined goals, you are capable of doing extraordinary things and solving extraordinary problems.

Please prove us right and solve these Problems.
If you submit an invention / solution / cure for one of these Problems, and our Review Board determines that it does, in fact, solve one of the Problems, you will win a huge cash Award.  We have also developed a process that can help you benefit financially even if your submission does NOT win an Award.

scientistWe also know that the inventor / creative community has a healthy skepticism toward the business community. Much of this is richly deserved.  Now, The Dewey Foundation will be your advocate as we celebrate innovation. We want to reward inventors for inventing, not for playing the business game.  At every step of the process, you are in control.

When we receive a submission, we agree to be bound by a strict policy of non-disclosure that extends throughout our review process.

In the event that you win an Award before we are finished raising $1 Billion, you are still in control and would have the following options:

  1. Take whatever money we have raised to that point (which will still be a truly significant amount of money), in cash, and receive a portion of the licensing revenues and additional donations generated by the invention until such time, if ever, the payout reaches $1 Billion.
  2. Retain all rights to your invention, decline our Award, and go market your invention yourself. We will remain bound by our non disclosure agreement and we would have no rights to your invention.

Winning Submissions:

labIf you submit a winning invention / solution / cure; and choose to accept an Award, you will transfer all rights to the invention to the Dewey Foundation. We will then take steps to insure the invention helps as many people as possible around the world.

You will also be named a Dewey Foundation Fellow, become a member of our Board of Advisors, and if you so choose, become a member of our Review Board.

Non-winning Submissions:

The Foundation will receive many submissions that do not solve any of our Problems but that have tremendous potential nonetheless. After the scientific review is completed, any ideas / concepts / submissions that our Board determines have merit for scientific advancement or commercialization will be referred to The Dewey Foundation Ventures (DFV).

If they choose to go this route, DFV may assist the entrepreneurs / inventor with:

  1. Introductions to individual investors, angels, and venture capital firms (a select number of firms will be vetted by the DFV and chosen to be partners), or other investor opportunities.
  2. Help in raising money and in negotiations with potential investors.
  3. Introduction to the scientific community through / from members of our Review Boards.
  4. Management consulting and other business advice.
  5. Will present the inventor and investors with the analysis / reviews by our Review Board.
  6. Help perfecting their Intellectual Property rights.
  7. We will be your advocate in all dealings with the business and investor community.
